Our staff work hard to provide a safe, nurturing and innovative educational program for students with language-based learning disabilities. Legacy accepts students in 1st through 8th grades from counties all around Maryland including Baltimore, Carroll, Howard, Frederick, and more.

Our curriculum is designed around the needs of dyslexic learners. Legacy faculty members are trained in providing research-based and proven methodologies in order to meet individual needs. Our program is based on a systematic, sequential and multi-sensory approach. We meet the language and sensory needs of dyslexic students in every classroom, activity, and tutoring session.
We engage our students with experiential and project-based learning geared to inspire and enrich their creative minds. They feel comfortable and supported in our learning environment and feel safe to take risks. We restore the joy of learning for our students. Everyday, students show up to Legacy with the confidence that they will have fun learning, be respected by their peers, and have meaningful connections with their teachers and tutors.
Building a strong and connected community is important to everyone at the Legacy School. That is why we offer a variety of clubs and after school programs to continue building community even after the school day finishes. Homework club offers a chance for students to receive further tutoring and support for their homework assignments. Art clubs offer opportunities for students to show off their creativity. Yoga club and Running club celebrate student health and wellness. There are new after school activities being added all the time so that every Legacy student can feel a sense of belonging.
